but it's time to buck up and have faith that God will pan things out for me the way He always does. i will begin by thanking God for a three day weekend. holy smokes do i need this! but wait, something cool happened to me this week so before i go into the long-weekend plans, i will share:
Wednesday morning, i was running late. late enough that i couldn't stop for my coffee fix. you know when you wake up from a hard sleep and you feel like the front of your head has the word "SLEEP" stamped on it? and its not really a head ache but you head feels foggy? yea that was me on wednesday. and with no time to stop for coffee i knew that it would be a long day. ughhhh.
so i get to work and do my normal morning routine. check the website, check the social networks, open my email, yaddy yadda. and as a side note, i am a dedicated Biggby customer and social media follower. so as Twitter has their reputation for, at 8:59am I posted my thoughts in 140 characters or less.
Who wants to bring me a #Biggby Sugar Bear (Skinny)? I am at 801 S. Waverly Rd. Suite 301 #Lansing MI. I would greatly appreciate it. :-Dabout about hour later, our secretary comes to my desk. conversation as follows:
secretary: "Katie, did you send something out on Twitter about a Biggby drink?"
me: "Yea, like an hour ago, why?"
secretary: "Someone is here to see you"
what!? i stand up, grinning ear to ear, and am in complete disbelief. i walk to the front desk and this poor girl from the Waverly Rd. Biggby is standing there with three grande drinks and a can of whip - drenched from the rain. conversation as follows:
Biggby girl: "Are you Katie?"
me: "YES!"
Biggby girl: "We got a call from corporate saying that you wanted a drink delivered to you. Did you send something out on Twitter?"
me: "I cannot believe you guys did this. this is awesome! yes I sent something out on twitter!!"
Biggby girl: "Well I have your skinny Sugar Bear. I brought two others as well (Carmel and a Mocha). We didnt know if you wanted whip or not. Would you like me to add some whip?"
me: "Sure! That would be great! Thank you so much!"
and then she leaves. i am just dumbfounded. but it definitely made my day and i will forever sing the praises of Biggby. now don't go abusing my case study and tweeting for unreasonable things. it was purely the luck of the draw.
Now. onto my weekend plans.
about 3 years ago, two friends and i piled into a car with cash in our hands, no plan whatsoever and drove to Chicago to visit a guy i was seeing (long story). we were there for no more than 24 hours. we stayed in a shaddy hotel that accepted cash, took a wrong turn and ended up in a "scary" neighborhood, spent too much money, ate too much and slept not enough. it made for a great weekend and a memory we will never forget.
so, we have made it tradition. last year we snagged another one of our friends to come with us. we planned a bit better, stayed downtown on the mile, still spent too much and still didnt sleep enough. oh, and it rained. hard.
this year, we have added yet another friend. there is now 5 gals going. we planned about the same. we have yet to determine whose car we are taking. we are staying downtown. i have packed an umbrella. i think this hotel has a hot tub (so needed) in addition to the pool. there is no agenda. just praying that it doesnt rain on us again.
anyhoo, hopefully after this weekend i will come back to the greater lansing area refreshed, not frustrated and rejuvenated. i hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
la ta di da... luck of the draw.
