i am a closet tech nerd on many accounts. my parents think i'm genius [kind of] when it comes to techy things - mostly concerning computers. granted i work at a technology company. i am hardly "genius" compared to the people i work with. i have been here for almost two years now and still hear the same jargon and still, it flys over my head. i suppose there is benefit to that though. as the marketing guru [i try to be], it is my sole responsibility to make sure that the general public [your grandmother] can understand what we do, how we do it and why. so in order to do translate, i have to maintain my filter between laymans terms and geekeneese. its a tough battle. a big part of me wants to cannonball into geekeneese but the other part of me knows that if i do, laymans terms will be foreign to me.
and along with the job, at a tech company, comes the unavoidable coffee addiction. as if it weren't bad enough before i took this position. sugary latte's and grande frappes are rarely had anymore. give me the good stuff. straight up black joe [maybe a drop of honey]. we don't have time to dilly daddy with the the weak, yet high calorie, "fun" drinks. i will break down on occasion and treat myself to a Sugar Bear though. mm. but in all reality, for as much as i hate mornings, i simply can't afford to purchase a fancy drink day after day. because we all know that i need some sort of caffine in the morning before dealing with people. add 5 days of $4.35 up and i basically paid enough to cover my rent [that was an exaggeration]
all to spin off to my weekend plans. tonight i will be reunited with miss marshall and miss nanna-face [her name doesnt really end in face. fyi]. i am so incredibly stoked beyond belief. you have no idea. adult-life things get in way. we are also scattered [almost diagonally across MI] marsh is in spring lake. me in lansing. nanna-face in brighton. connect the dots. and then out of no where, the unspeakable happened. someone got a boyfriend. then that infected the other two, and now each of us has this weird boy thing going on. we never thought it could come to this [TSC], but i suppose we have to roll with the punches.
getting off topic though.
so my two crazy besties are coming tonight and a possible visit from a nice young fella who just happens to make me grinn from ear to ear. that is about all i have planned for the night. i havent thought very far. regardless, i must clean when i get home.
tomorrow[saturday] i will travel over to the GR area to meet with two of my other besties and past roommates; mrs. kuzee and mrs. howell. also known as mal pal and worpel. tomorrow will consist of coffee and laughter and i couldnt be more thrilled.
to follow that event, i will be joining this nice young fella for a pre-birthday - birthday party at the comedy club. [HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!] he likes to laugh. [and so do i] not going to lie though, i am a tad nervous to meet a ton of his friends. i mean i will know no one but him. but i will suck it up and be kind to other - ugh what a drag. totally kidding. really. should be a good time.
then on sunday, my goal is to attend church. then i have to work on my SAU FOCUS series presentation. i always tend to wait until the last minute. i have things brewing upstairs- i just have to put my thoughts down on paper. or powerpoint.
jammed packed weekend.
also, i got $50 back for signing up for my car insurance. score.
la ta di da...the things that keep me happy.
