Tuesday

all smiles.

well i survived another week. [please applaud] last week was insane. my body hates me for the lack of sleep. surprisingly i made it through the week with little coffee. well not really. but i was anticipating a coffee overload. i paced myself i suppose. work is crazy busy. it's great. i love it. the last two days i have had this spurt of creativity in my veins. which resulted to two new marketing pieces and one that i am currently trying to finish. its rare that i can whip out two new pieces in 24 hours without hitting a massive brick wall. lets hope this spurt doesn't end until at least 5pm today. i want to finish the other piece before the creative juices run dry.

last week though... [getting off topic]... work was crazy. i had a few big project that required a good chunk of time. on top of that, i was speaking on Social Media for the SAU FOCUS series. ack, how professional! [right?] i did two workshops, both an hour long. i think i spoke to maybe 45 people. thats a ball park figure. they video tapped and recorded me in the second workshop. [didnt know that was going to happen] my speech professor also sat in. that was comforting. hope i made her proud. i thought it went well. but then again i might be biased.

the next day i had to visit SAU yet again. see at SAU the marketing/advertisng [some] classes are structured in a hands on format. so how it works is the class is broken up into groups [5-6 per group]. they bring in an actual client/business. the groups all have to create their own campaign for that client/business. the groups are also competing against each other for the "best overall campaign". at the end of the period [roughly 3 weeks], the client comes in and the groups have to present their campaigns. they work free of charge, but of course a donation is much appreciated.

well when i was asked to do the marketing/advertising/rebranding for one of our clients at CBI, i was honored, but knew my plate, as is, was full. i turned to SAU for assistance. so now the SAU advertising class is creating an ad campaign for me/our client. i am project manager for everything, meaning i have to oversee the work and communication. last week i went down to the university to meet with the class and answer questions, give requirements and whatnot.

it was pretty neat to be on the other side of the project. i remember having to do these kinds of projects and putting my sweat, blood and tears into the project. now i get to sit back and wait to be whooed.

on a different note, i discovered that one of my fav. bands released a FREE album last year. yes, i know, what a fan i am to have missed that release. wow. so i searched high and low last night for where i could download it. couldnt find it anywhere. ugh! i was so disappointed. but then. a friend from HS pulled through for me and sent me my missing link. here is if you want it Click Here. new workout music. yes!

on yet another different note, i survived two weekends in a row meeting the boyfriend's friends. why on earth was i so nervous! my goodness. i need to relax and NOT be a typical girl. so the challenge for- well- there isnt really an expiration date on this- i just need to chill out. his friends were great. why wouldnt they be? he's great so it makes perfect sense he would have great friends in return.

anyways, we had this birthday party this weekend for him and his "march bday" friends. it was hawaiian themed [of course] so not only was i nervous about meeting his friends but i was nervous about the coconut bra and grass skirt i was in. he was a gem though and picked out a great outfit for me. he was in blue and i was in pink [naturally]. i dont have a picture, it is on his camera. if he lets me post it then i will. might take some arm twisting. :)

<---(Alright, here you go... laugh away)

i went home for a few hours on friday. i saw my niece and had dinner with the rents. she is growing like a weed! a very cute weed that is. she wore tennis shoes on friday. SHOES! like little tiny knicker bockers. she was styling in the K-Swiss white tennies. strutting around the house like she was big stuff. loved it. she was saying "up" for me and "num num num" which translates to the sound "yum". what a doll.

this weekend my friend from CHINA! is coming home for a week!! yay!! which means the girls are getting together and hanging out. what a relief! looking forward to every minute. Marsh is coming on Friday and then we get to go to Sophias... CREPES! yum!... for brunch with the other girls that cant come on Friday... and oh my the excitement that runs within me is unbelievable!

la ta di da...all smiles - life is good.
