the fashion battlefield.

well well... i am not longer the queen of my palace. but i am totally okay with that. my new roommate moved in this weekend. so glad! we took a gander down to the hopping town of GL. it was pretty entertaining. i would do it again though hands down.

yesterday i had a thought and figured to share it. though i wanted to jot it down while fresh in my little ol' noggin, i had more important things to do, like help the roommate fold t-shirts ;-) sorry you were put on the back burner last night.

why do girls get dressed up?

but really? why do we get dressed up? who is it mainly for? well i think [strong emphasis on "think"] that we dress up for the following reasons:
A) it boosts our self esteem
B) we dress for the possibility of being judged by other females
C) we dress for the men

yes, those are my conclusions and yes, they are in the order of importance. because when it really comes down to it, guys really dont care what we wear in the end. i have heard from a handful of gals that their guy prefers them in sweats, a t shirt, and no make up. fair enough. so why do i need to get all fancied up?!

it builds my confidence and makes me feel on top of world. when i buy a cute shirt, then heck, i get all ants- in- my- pants to wear it out with a guy. i think [strong emphasis on "think"] i look just dashing in my new attire but i bet you the guy didnt even notice it or even care if it was a new shirt.

so then, we also dress for the judgement. its a war zone out there ladies.
and gents, this is what we are forced to deal with, so next time your gal has a cute shirt on and she says its new, give her the credit. more times than not we purchased the shirt because we know that we can
A) wear it better than the gal to right
or
B) no other gal on the street owns it. we wear things for the pure enjoyment of being looked at by.......girls not guys. and that does not make us swing both ways either. i bet you can ask any young gal and she will say that she has in fact looked at what the girl to the right is wearing.

i think we do that for a number of reasons, but a few being:
A) makes us feel better about our own appearance - by judging the appearance of other gals
and
B) we are investigating! duh! we want to figure out how we can wear it better or gather ideas of a new outfit we can put together.

its all just very strange how it REALLY works out [most of the time].

la ta di da....thats it for now. we're off to see my sweet niece and eat some tacos!
