I will miss my first apartment very much. It's so weird to be packing up everything. I learned that I obviously have too many materialistic items in my life. I need to do a spring splurge every year. I have at least 4 bags that need to go to Goodwill.
Things I will miss about my first apartment:
- My wall art that says Faith Hope Love
- The window in my shower
- Having two windows in my bedroom
- My landlord
- My quiet neighbors
- The fact it was my first home
- Being in Grand Ledge
Though I will miss my apartment, I am so incredibly ready and excited for my new place! I picked up my keys yesterday! I could hardly wait to unlock the doors to see it...
[Background on why I was so anxious: 30 days ago when I was checking out the apartment, the leasing agent told me they had two apartments available. #1 was up by the club house; was a tad cheaper; and faced the parking lot. #2 Apt. would be upgraded with new paint, carpet and flooring- and possibly new appliances; would be farther from the club house; would face the trees/yard
So with that being said, I took a risk and signed up for Apt #2. I was a little leery about the upgrades because they weren't really sure what would need replacing- hoping it would be more than just new carpet. And it was a little more than Apt #1.]
So I ran to my new apartment [not literally] and opened the door. Smells of fresh carpet! Light brown. Nice.
I immediately go to the kitchen...new stove! AWESOME! new fridge! AWESOME! dishwasher...not new...STILL AWESOME! pantry... not new either, but i'm okay with that!
okay... now to the bathroom... it's huge! nothing upgraded...maybe a new toilet...not sure though.
On to the bedrooms...Master bedroom... new ac unit...AWESOME! walk in closet... nothing to upgrade... STILL AWESOME! new windows? maybe...
Now onto the spare bedroom... eh, I won't spend much time in there... but maybe new windows? AWESOME!
Living room... there will be a new couch! YAY! new ac unit...AWESOME!
and now, to the best part...the balcony! maybe a new slider door? who cares! I have a balcony! YAY!
I move tomorrow. I am stoked. I will have a pool, hot tub, sauna, balcony... greatness... I can't wait to get settled in. I will take pictures and post 'em later.
Here is my view from my balcony... nothing too exciting but at least there won't be some guy living on the other side of me with a leaf blower OCD condition.
la ta di da...it's like the end of an era...
