So to check in on my previous post The Life I Want , here's where I'm at:
I found an apartment! I will be moving in roughly a month(ish). The lady is still living in the apartment so I kind of have to wait for her to move. BUT the big perk here is that she has lived there for 20+ years so once she moves out, I get new flooring, carpeting, paint, shelving, and maybe new appliances depending on the condition they are in. I am so stoked to move for several reasons. At this new place I will have:
- A pool
- A sauna
- A (tiny) gym
- A balcony
- A DISHWASHER!
- A walk-in closet
- A bigger bathroom
- A pantry
- 2 AC units
- Will be closer to Lansing/Church/Timmer
- Be only a couple miles from work (!)
YAY! I have heard only good things about this place so I am excited. Seems like a nice little community. Granted its not the 1 bedroom I (thought) wanted but it will be great. I am however, sad to leave my apartment. It was such a great little place to call home. I AM looking forward to not hearing the OCD Leaf Blower that lives across the fence.
Alright, now to follow up on this post. I quit the gym. Then I joined the gym. A different one. One that is WAY less $$ but has more equipment options. So I joined last Saturday. I spent some time scoping out the place. I don't want to look like a complete alien walking around the gym trying to find where I can do the leg press. I did some running. Yes, running. I know, I hate running. I expressed my deep hatred for running in that one post (mentioned above). But I figured, I need to change that mentally. I need to accept the fact that cardio is needed and running is a good source of cardio. So I am slowly working up to the point where I don't feel like my lungs are going to implode and I won't keel over and die. (I also don't think I am running correctly... that may become an issue).
Yesterday I ran for .8 miles and walked the other .2 (I was on a time crunch). Then I did some killer ab workouts and a few weights. Then I went to my friend Brandon's and we walked 3 miles round trip to the library. Ladies and gents I am a proud member of the library now! This has opened a whole new world for me. I can check out all kinds of movies, cd's, and of course, books - but I don't read much.
So I'd like to think I am making improvements. Baby steps I suppose.
On another note. My best friend is home from Haiti and I couldn't be more thrilled! I am so excited she is home for the summer. I can always count on her to make me belly laugh and then say something so meaningful and profound. She is great that way. I am so ready to do some serious hanging out.
On the flip side, Timmer has been gone for like 2 weeks and I have seen him for 2 hours during that time period. I know I am a wimp but I kinda miss the kid. I have become so used to having him around. If I wanted to see him, I could, even if we were both busy working or whatever. It was nice to know I had the option. But he has been off on adventures. Which is good. I'm glad he has the opportunities to do those things. I just miss having him around and seeing him. He'll be back in a couple days though. Distance makes the heart grow fonder - right?
I'm tired of missing people! shoot! Can't ya'll just come home and be home at the same time! Jeepers.
I got to see the babies last weekend. I made little G baby giggle which was heart melting and oh-so-precious! Bug is just as crazy as ever. She is so funny and I love her imagination and her laugh. She is hilarious.
This weekend is Mother's day, so I will be heading up north to see the grandma's and spend some QT with my own masha.
Alright. I must go. I'll check in later with my progress.
