recouped and revised

ahh what a week. another whirlwind of meetings and on top of everything i had a minor cold and spell of exhaustion. last weekend was some kind of busy for me so when monday came around it kicked me off my feet. i could have slept right through monday and into tuesday if i didnt have to work. by wednesday i felt somewhat well rested. i am looking forward to this weekend though- full of no plans which will be splendid.

my roommate has officially moved out. my apartment is now a little lonelier but all shall remain good. just a bit of a weird feeling.

i'm sort of, kind of seeing someone which is exciting. beginnings are the greatest. the other night he came over and we made dinner. and by "we" i mean "he". he really did most of the work. i basically watched and had a glass of sangria. he made cilantro lime chicken with red skin mashed potatoes with cilantro and garlic & onion green beans. wowsers. it was phenomenal. then we just sat and listened to Mumford for a while. it was probably the most relaxing 10 minutes i had in a LONG time.

today was one of those perfect weather days that makes me want to move to the carolinas or someplace along those lines. at lunch a friend from work and i drove down to the nearby park on the river and sat under some maple trees. we just read and chatted for a bit. i wouldnt recommend reading under maple trees. i think i got dripped on a few times [and certainly dont park under them when is 95 degrees outside- not good on the car[i did that this summer at work. oops]]. regardless of the maple tree debacle, it was perfect. a slight breeze, the sun was warm but not unbearable, the sky was bright blue with fluffy white clouds. [side thought: what is up with my iTunes?! i have some strange music on here...] weather like today makes me want to get lost in absolutely nothing.

i signed up for stumbleupon today. which is probably a late start to things given i am in marketing. whatever. i found a few pretty cool things. one of which was a very simple but really cool way to save a messed up OR vintage paint- by- number painting. all credit goes to this really awesome blogger. hope i made her proud. i made this really cool painting a few months ago. messed it up. redid it and was sad i didnt recreate it nearly as good as the first time around. so i have this messed up painting that i loved but like i said- it was messed up. i wouldnt hang it on a wall. in fact i hid it behind my dresser. anywho, i came across this blog post on my 2nd time ever playing with stumbleupon! ha! how cool. so in the end, i saved my favorite messed up painting after all.
