My downward spiral of my uplifting attitude started yesterday. I was in the process of making seafood enchiladas...yum! i was chopping up crab (yes chopping crab...it wasnt like crab legs or anything, lets be honest, i'm not rolling in the dough). and SLICE! eeks! there goes my index finger. just kidding. but really. i sliced the tip of my left index finger. bad. i mean it was just last week that i sliced my right index finger... now its the other one?! are you kidding me?! ugh so let the throbbing begin...
another contributing factor is that i simply slept terrible. which spun off to an everlasting headache.
as i was walking into work i was reminded of how much i dislike sales. i won't go into detail but i just dislike sales. period.
then for the cherry: it's only monday. i have a long week ahead of me.
i know it doesnt sound like much but it was JUST.ONE.OF.THOSE.DAYS.
so what did i do to knock off the bad 'tude? i had 20 minutes of solitude in a tanning bed and 1.5 hours in the gym. ah. piece.
i saw this in the November 2010 issue of Glamour, on page 174. i really liked it and i hope you enjoy it:
Hey, it's OK!
1. To wear Silly Bandz one day and Grandpa's Rolex the next. 2. To get the dressing actually on the salad, not on the side. 3. To wear the exact same outfit this Tuesday as you did last Tuesday, right down to the earrings. 4. To let whoever feels like to pay for dinner, without the mental gymnastics over gender roles and who earns more 5. To come up with a whole load of laundry so your lucky underwear will be clean for tomorrow. 6. To be just the tiniest bit scared of revolving doors. 7. To have an unreasonably large purse. Worked for Mary Poppins, right?
8. To let yourself have a bad day once and a while. (I added that one myself.)
"katie, sometimes you need to come up for air" says a co-worker to me at near 5pm.
la ta di da... come up for air.
the bad days, make the good days better. :)
